5 Double 25 persons MONDAY changeover

This grass roots glamping site, tucked between the yew trees in coastal West Sussex, is a perfect group glamping site.  Accommodating up to 25 guests, these five traditional bell tents invoke childhood memories of family holidays in nearshore Britain.  Harking back to a simpler time, a stay at Plush Tents allows for reflection, relaxation and reconnecting with the natural surroundings of Chichester.  Available for events, yoga retreats, wedding receptions, birthday parties or just somewhere that you and your extended family can spend quality time together, you’ll find plenty to keep you occupied.  The large site offers a communal fire pit and seating for evenings swapping stories and laughing with friends in the light of the flickering flames.  Relax in the 12-person hot tub, or cook up a feast for your fellow glampers in the mess tent, and eat al fresco at outdoor tables while swallows swoop overhead.  On cooler evenings, cosy up in Home Yurt, which seats 65 guests and has a stock of board games and houses a cinema screen.
Plush Tents is part of a larger communal glamping site, listed on this website as Plush Camp.

Interior & Facilities

Plush Tents is made up of 5 beautiful bell tents.  These lovely canvas structures have a retro camping feel, equipped with a comfortable memory foam mattress for two, covered in luxurious linens and fleecy blankets.  A coffee table houses a tea and coffee hamper, and natural coir flooring covers the ground.  Torches are provided for when the sun goes to sleep, although we reckon you’ll be too busy star gazing to need them.

Bathrooms: This cleverly laid out site has an allocated space for everything, including a wooden-clad bathroom block, housing 4 hot water, gas-powered showers in family-sized cubicles, and flushing toilets as well as composting loos.

Communal facilities: This site has been created to bring people together, as is seen by the 30ft Home Yurt, which has the capacity for 117 people standing, and up to 60 people seated on sofas and chairs in front of the large wood-burning stove and cinema projection screen.
The outdoor space provides a large communal bonfire space with benches, a bandstand, a hammock circle for chilling out, and picnic tables for shared al fresco dinners.
The mess tent kitchen has gas ovens, cooking accessories and solar-powered ice boxes, as well as sinks.  Above all of the bin areas you will find nifty herb gardens, where you can pick some mint for your lamb burger…or your mojito!
The natural play area has an indoor cinema tent, a treehouse, a bean bag tipi, den building facilities and the capacity for much fun and laughter.
And for a little luxury, why not enjoy the 8-12 seater wood-fired hot tub – don’t forget to bring your towel.

Please note: there are charge points for phones at reception, but the rest of the site is off-grid, meaning no digital distractions from meaningful moments.

Situation & Location

When you’re in the middle of the beautiful grove that houses Plush Tents, it’s easy to forget that you’re only 4 miles from the West Sussex coast.  Beautiful Bognor Regis is a mere 11 miles from the camp, and West Wittering beach, at the entrance to Chichester Harbour, is a must visit.  This area has it all – from sandy beaches to ancient yew groves at Kingley Vale, to Anglo-Saxon buildings, restored and ready for you to explore at Weald and Downland Living Museum, mere miles away.  9 miles from Plush Tents is the beautiful harbour town of Bosham, which houses one of this area’s finest harbourside pubs, Anchor Bleu, which offers freshly caught, home cooked seafood and traditional casks of ale – lovely!
If you want to stay on site for your supper, the owners work in conjunction with Field and Fork, who can supply hampers for group guests.  The owners are happy to book your hamper for you, which comes with cutlery and napkins and packed in disposable containers for your convenience.
For speed fans, Plush Tents is only a 15-minute drive from Goodwood Race track, which hosts The Festival of Speed yearly.  Owners Louise and Macca love this event so much, they’ll help you get to the venue so that you won’t miss out!
