Aeron Safari Lodge, Cardigan.
Safari is one of three impressive glamping lodges at Felin Geri, a unique and
beautiful place nestled in a small valley near Newcastle Emlyn, just south of Cardigan, West Wales. Home of a once thriving 17th Century water
mill, now with the adjacent river and cafe-bar it's the perfect place for family holidays - especially with a private hob tub!
Along with Teifi Lodge, Aeron sits in a 3 acre paddock enjoying a gorgeous position
overlooking the valley and woodlands with a shallow river meandering by -
perfect for summer splashing about and fun. A short stroll gets you to the
Supply Stores where you can buy provisions and extra kindling, refreeze cool-box blocks, stock up on logs
and have the use of a fridge-freezer. Local produce can also be ordered in for
you from independent local suppliers. Just a little further is the cafe-bar
serving great coffee, alcohol and light meals, and the nearby wooden fort is a
real treat for children to play in.
One of the things we love about these safari lodges is their size - generous proportions and furnishings provide a 'home from home' feeling. The living space is open plan with a kitchen and log-fuelled cooking range, proper dining table and chairs for family meals together. Relaxing in the sitting area is too easy on a sumptuous Chesterfield sofa and huge bean bags!
With two separate bedrooms, one master with a king size bed and one with
twin single beds nobody needs to feel cramped. The Scottish wood cabin in between the dining area
and master bedroom also houses a cosy double bed. And you don't have to leave the tent to use the bathroom or loo - a doorways from the
bedrooms lead to a small hall and two separate cabins. The
interior measures 55sq metres in total! Out front is your fantastic deck
with gorgeous dining furniture and amazing views of the woodland
valley and your own private wood fired hot tub.
The use of hotel quality bedding, mattresses and furnishings has created a luxurious glamping experience - everything about these tents oozes quality. The old Mill and Bakery are under restoration so come back next year and see how it's all developed!
The Cardigan Bay coast is less than 30 minutes away, dolphin watching boat trips, fishing, beaches and pretty coastal towns. If you love walking there's the stunning coastal path, and inland, sweeping views from paths over the Prescelli hills, For history buffs there are many Neolithic sacred sites, ancient churches, and the Pilgrim route to St Davids Cathedral. Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire are near enough for day trips to even more beaches and family days out such as Oakwood Theme Park and Folly Farm.
Or simply while away a relaxing few days right here amid the peaceful natural surroundings - it's what glamping is all about.
