Maddle Brook Safari, Hereford.

1 Double 2 Single 5 persons FRIDAY changeover

This is one of those family holidays where one day you’ll look back through the photographs and find yourself smiling!

The tent is on a 3,000 acre private, family owned Estate, surrounded by fields and large apple orchards. There are no other tents here, you have the whole space to yourselves, adults can enjoy the seclusion, children can run around freely, build dens and play pooh sticks in the brook. Lazy summer holidays are made in places like this!

Enjoy activities? You can hire archery, canoes and mountain bikes from local companies, or if you prefer do bring your own bikes and canoes. Private walks across the Estate connect with the Wye Valley Path Network making this an ideal short break for walkers.

Failing that you might want to simply chill out and enjoy the seclusion and privacy of this peaceful location, which is rather like being on a little island, as the camp is in a bow of the brook and accessed via a small bridge. The neighbouring orchards provide fruit for 2 well known cider companies, and a walk through them leads to you to your own picnic and campfire spot on the Wye riverbank with easy access for canoes. The site is dog friendly but as this is a working farm there will be sheep nearby, care must be taken.

This Safari tent is way off the beaten track, accessed across two fields - glamping holidays offering this much privacy and freedom are few and far between. If you really want some quality time alone with your loved ones, Maddle Brook should be on your short list, if not your number one choice!

Reviews

The setting is idyllic, you are away from everything, the first night was so clear you could see all the stars in the sky, you can sit on the deck outside the tent, with a glass in hand and the whole experience is so tranquil.
