Teifi Safari Lodge, Cardigan.
Teifi Safari Lodge is one of three stunning safari lodges at Felin Geri, a beautiful location nestled in a small valley just south of Cardigan, West Wales. This is the home of a once thriving 17th Century water mill, and now with its pretty meadows, river and cafe-bar, it's the perfect place for family holidays - especailly with its private-use wood fired hot-tub!
Along with Aeron Lodge, Teifi sits in a 3 acre paddock surrounded by mature trees and meadows, it enjoys a gorgeous south facing position overlooking the alley and woodlands beyond. Just a hop through the hedge is another charming meadow and the shallow river with its gently sloping banks - perfect for summer splashing about and fun. A short stroll takes you to the pantry where you can buy provisions and extra kindling, refreeze cool-box blocks, stock up on logs and have the use of a fridge freezer. Local produce can also be ordered in for you from independent local suppliers. Just a little further is the cafe-bar serving great coffee, alcohol and light meals, and the nearby wooden fort is a real treat for children to play in.
One of the things we love about these safari lodges is their quality and size - generous proportions and furnishings provide a 'home from home' feeling. The living space is open plan with a kitchen and wood-fuelled cooking range, proper dining table and chairs for family meals together. Relaxing in the sitting area is too easy on a sumptuous Chesterfield sofa and huge bean bags.
A Scottish cabin separates the dining area from the king bedroom, and houses a cosy double bed, toward the back of the lodge are two separate bedrooms - one with a king size bed and one with twins. Doorways from the bedrooms lead to two separate shower and WC cabins so you don't have to leave the tent to use them. The interior measures 55 sq meters in total! Out front is your fantastic deck with amazing views of the woodland valley and your own private use hot-tub (additional fees apply please call to reserve, £70 per 3 night booking, £80 per 4 night booking, £110 per week).
The use of hotel quality bedding, mattresses and furnishings has created a
luxurious glamping experience - everything about these tents oozes quality. The old Mill and Bakery are under restoration, and we're sure that you will want to return to see how it's all developed.
The Cardigan Bay coast is less than 30 minutes away, dolphin watching
boat trips, fishing, beaches and pretty coastal towns. If you love
walking there's the stunning coastal path, and inland, sweeping views
from paths over the Prescelli hills, For history buffs there are many
Neolithic sacred sites, ancient churches, and the Pilgrim route to St
David's Cathedral. Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire are near enough for
day trips to even more beaches and family days out such as Oakwood Theme
Park and Folly Farm. Or simply while away a relaxing few days
right here amid the peaceful natural surroundings - it's what glamping
