This enchanting tree house is tucked away at the end of a mile long track off the public road, in the upper reaches of the ancient Rother Valley. Overlooking a dew pond on the edge of ancient woodland and clad in aromatic cedar, it blends perfectly with the Weald's area of outstanding natural beauty, setting the scene for a truly romantic and memorable break. Guests comment on its remoteness, it really is a wonderful place to chill-out and lose yourself from the world.

A short walk through woodlands, over an elevated boardwalk brings you to this idyllic retreat. The peaceful ambience is a playground for native wildlife and song birds - look out for badgers, foxes, pheasants and deer during your stay.  Buzzards float high on the warm air currents and owls call to each other among the surrounding trees, sometimes even perching on the tree house deck!

You are assured of a warm welcome, Lucinda's farmhouse is a few hundred metres further down the track. if you arrive in time for tea you can enjoy homemade cake either on the spacious decking overlooking the dew pond, or snuggle up by the toasty wood-burner. Settle in to enjoy all the comforts you would expect from a quality tree house, including a 40" TV with free view and DVD player, and a bluetooth Bose speaker. The stunning locally hand crafted king size bed sits neatly in the window recess facing the log burning stove, look up through the windows for an upside down view of the surrounding trees! It's a gorgeous space to cosy up and relax in tranquility.

If a couples retreat is a distant memory and you'd like somewhere for the whole family, then Hoots can accommodate you. Sensible and adventurous children over 6 can stay in the mezzanine loft which has just enough room to squeeze them in (access is via a ladder and hatch).

East Sussex is blessed with many pretty villages with pubs and restaurants. Wadhurst and Royal Tunbridge Wells are home to cafes, art galleries, independent shops and live music. If you choose to venture out, there are also village pubs with preserved local character and delicious menus, the nearest picturesque village of Mayfield is an appetising one hour's walk away.
