Jude's Hut, Dorset.
Unsuitable for children
Get “Far from the Madding Crowd” on a visit to Jude's Hut,
a beautiful and colourful two-person Shepherd’s hut which roosts amidst the
hills of Hardy’s Folklore, in the middle of the Dorset Area of Outstanding
Natural Beauty. This characterful hut
provides you with everything you would need for a comfortable and cleansing
off-grid escape. Hurricane lamps provide
lighting, whilst the wood-burning stove keeps you snug during your romantic
stay. Being in nature is vital to your
stay at Jude's Hut, as the location, dotted with some of the UK’s finest hill
forts, is an explorer’s idyll. Travel
the Narnia-like, tree-lined roads to Lyme Regis, then head down deeper into the
Jurassic Coast, to the highest cliff on the south coast at Golden Cap, or to
the setting for the hit TV series “Broadchurch” at nearby West Bay.
Stay closer to home by rambling the hills towards Eggardon, which is your horizon view from the hut, or simply enjoy the Forest Garden which surrounds the hut, and sit and enjoy the stunning panoramas while cooking a barbecue in your own personal digital detox zone.
Live lightly within nature is the owners’ philosophy, and this is pleasantly and comfortably easy in Jude's Hut. No electricity means that you’ll be able to focus on the wildflowers and songbirds, and no light pollution means you can immerse yourself in starry skies and planet spotting. Solar energy allows for a gorgeously hot shower in your own private bathroom in the morning, before another day of adventures around the unspoilt and unrivalled region of Dorset.
