Interior & Facilities
Seren Wagon is a striking structure, from its Royal Blue painted exterior to its mermaid-coloured interior, with flashes of bold turquoise and pretty pink throughout.
The first thing that catches your attention about the interior is the space - a large, built-in, king-sized bed is hidden not-so-discreetly behind a beautifully carved, decorative partition, clearly defining your snug sleeping area from the well thought out living space. A small log burner warms the wagon on cooler nights, with wood lovingly supplied by the owners. There's a cosy interior seating area, a table and chairs for eating, and a sink for washing in. Cooking is done on a gas BBQ with hob, otherwise you can boil your kettle on the wood burner for your morning cuppa.
There's a separate wash wagon mere feet from Seren Wagon - you can certainly get clean in this beautiful bathroom space, complete with solar powered hot shower and modern composting toilet. This is how glamping bathrooms should be done!
And if the shower doesn't do the trick for your adventure-weary limbs, then slip into something a little more comfortable in the shape of the Love Tub. This is an intimate wood-fired hot tub for two. Immerse yourself in bubbles while sipping on something bubbly and do what this aptly named abode was created for - staring at the stars.
Don't forget to bring your wellies - the owners run a working farm, and a short walk through arable land gets you to Seren Wagon.
Seren Wagon and its wash hut sits approximately 400 metres away from the main road, so bring your wellies - this is a working farm. Feel the pressures of everyday life fall away as you walk across arable fields to reach your own, private rural retreat. It's not hard to spot, as its deep blue colour contrasts beautifully with the living growth of green in the surrounding fields. This spot, tucked away behind the trees, is set alongside a small body of water and its own tiny beach, making this place a natural draw for wildlife. There are footpaths across the fields, providing walks - owner Jenna assures us that if you keep walking far enough, you'll be rewarded by a little country pub!
Seren Wagon sits amongst the fields of Astwell, a hamlet in southwest Northamptonshire. By road, it is 12 miles northeast of the Saxon market town of Banbury, and 17 miles southwest of Northampton, one of the largest towns in the UK. This part of the UK was the setting between the Danes and the Saxons in the 9th century, although you would never know that from travelling through its peaceful, idyllic countryside. Less than 1 hour from Oxford and the popular Bicester Village, 1 hour from the M25 and 2 hours from London, this area reflects the best of bucolic English countryside, brimming with wi
