Redwood Yurt, Pembrokeshire.
Get back to
nature in the wilds of West Wales in Redwood Yurt, nestled into a wooded valley
in Pembrokeshire. If you’re craving a
secluded stay away from the stresses of every day, then this stunning sylvan
spot doesn’t disappoint. Surrounded by
its namesake red woodland, Redwood Yurt provides a spectacular view across
ancient woodland, allowing for gorgeous sunsets, tree trail walks and prime
buzzard watching. In fact, Redwood Yurt
is surrounded by wildlife – owners Phil and Rachel have added to the local
creatures by setting up a liver on-site, with guest stalls for horses in the
stables if you don’t want to leave your equine friend in private livery stables
while you enjoy a holiday in Wales.
You’re also likely to meet the owners’ gaggle of chickens and ducks, who
roam freely around the extensive grounds.
Children can meet the sheep, get lings full of crisp mountain air, and
eat freshly laid eggs for breakfast – as a treat, you’ll find a carton of them
in the yurt waiting for you when you arrive.
Bring your family to Redwood Yurt for a bucolic break with plenty of
activities and opportunities to make happy, lasting family memories.
Interior & Facilities
This traditional style yurt has been modernised with updated materials, making Redwood Yurt weather-proof and well insulated. This is an extremely cosy abode, complete with a small log burner, which will make your toes and your soul glow. A comfy double bed commands the centre of this restful space, with two fold-out futons providing extra bedding. Clever additions, such as storage areas and magnetic LED lighting which attach to the metallic beams of the yurt, set this lovely little yurt apart.
Cooking is done in the covered barbecue area at the back of the yurt, where a fully equipped kitchenette space has been thoughtfully placed.
Owners Rachel and Phil are now living their dream life, keeping horses, ducks and chickens, as well as providing a beautifully fragrant edible garden surrounding all structures on this site. These friendly and helpful owners are happy to share this idyllic location with new friends. Redwood Yurt’s remote location, tucked down a beautiful sprawling valley, make it a perfect digital detox spot – no WIFI? No worries! Get away from a racing technological world, and submerge yourself in wooded wonder at this splendid site in one of the UK’s most rustic counties.
North Pembrokeshire is a diverse and wild area of the UK. Sitting just below Cardigan Bay, you’re never far from the coast or a mountain range. Pembrokeshire boasts the only coastal National Park in the UK, only a 20-minute drive from Redwood Yurt. The community of Boncath is further inland, and was once a busy railroad area for a now defunct coastal train to Cardigan. As a result, this area boasts several country mansions, as well as an ancient woodland managed by the Woodland Trust, which rolls right up to the door of Redwood Yurt. Nearby Ffynone Woods boasts a waterfall that falls at the convergence of four rivers – if it’s a taste of rural Wales you’re craving, this really is the perfect spot.
