4 Double 8 Single 16 persons MONDAY changeover

Down lush, winding country lanes, with refreshing sea air gently blowing across the harvest fields, you’ll find Star Court, a beautifully located group glamping site allowing access to a stunning corner of Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
This site used to be the North gate and main entrance to the now non-existent sixteenth century Stackpole Court.  You can almost still imagine the court as you drive between the tree-lined lane and between two grand stone pillars to enter the site.  Once inside, you enter a compellingly bucolic site, dotted with billowing grasses, wildflowers and the hum of bees. The offerings of Star Court – a mixture of handmade yurt and bespoke bell tents – sit comfortably in this private and flourishing natural site, providing the golden opportunity to immerse yourself in the living energy of this Welsh idyll.  Children will love running through the open spaces, playing outdoor games and watching the wildlife – parents can relax knowing that this site is self-contained.  With bathrooms nearby, outdoor cooking equipment provided and plenty of comfortable sleeping space for the family, all that’s left to do is completely unwind and enjoy your country break at this charming group site.

Interior & Facilities

Bell tents: Both beautiful, spacious tents sleep four on a double futon bed and two single floor beds.  This is a comfy and well-blanketed space, complete with hot water bottles in case of chilly evenings.  Tucked away neatly inside baskets is all the crockery, cutlery and cookware that you’ll need to cook up a feast on the hand-forged fire bowl and grill.  Have dinner with a view from your own outdoor table and chairs, overlooking the meadows surrounding the court.

Yurts: Both of these traditional Mongolian yurts were built by handy owner Stan, and are not only solid but beautiful structures, capable of sleeping up to 4 people.  A luxurious wooden double bed sleeps one couple, while there are two single futons available.  These spacious abodes also house a dining table and chairs, as well as pots, pans, cutlery and crockery.  In the autumn, both yurts will have their own wood-burning stoves for when the evenings turn cooler.  Each yurt also has its own outdoor fire bowl and grill, and outdoor seating for a glass of wine in the sun.

Bathrooms: This gorgeous group glamping site is equipped with facilities of extremely high standards.  There are two bespoke wooden toilet and shower pods, fitted with 4 hot water showers and 4 flushing toilets, as well as a wash room with a sink, chest freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.  There’s also a small composting loo on site.

Situation & Location

Star Court is ideally located on the edge of the Stackpole estate, close to pathways onto the coastal path, which contains the world-famous Barafundle Bay beach, and the stunning Broad Haven south, as well as 100 acres of man made lily ponds at nearby Bosherton.  Historic Stackpole Inn is a few miles from the site, an award-winning restaurant housed in a sixteenth century building which is well worth a visit.  The requisitioned land that makes up Castlemartin range, acquired at the beginning of World War II to be used as training ground for British troops, is accessible to the public, and allows access to St Govan’s Chapel.  Climb down the cliff face to the 13th century chapel, which marks the spot where the Irish Monk spent the latter part of his life worshiping near to the holy well at this spot.
Pembroke castle, birthplace of Henry Tudor, less than a ten minute drive, and its surrounding town sits beautifully on the banks of the river Pembroke, which was once a medieval and then an industrial dockyard for the North Shore Quarries.
