Montys Yurt, Wales.
Super yurt glamping in Pembrokeshire - 10 minutes drive away is Haverfordwest with supermarkets
and shops, as well as beaches, coastal
villages and the gorgeous St Brides Bay. But that's not the only attractive
feature of this yurt - the private bathroom, kitchen and secluded plot
make this a particularly popular glamping holiday.
Yurt Interior - This spacious 5 meter diameter yurt comfortably holds a double divan bed, 3 single futons (all bedding is
included), storage chest and coffee table. It's a great space for relaxing in with just enough
lanterns and accessories to make it welcoming without being
cluttered. There's plenty of space and surfaces for your own bits and bobs so make yourself at home!
Kitchenette - A few meters away in a Shepherd's hut cabin with gas
hob, microwave, kettle, fridge (small icebox) and the basics -
saucepans, utensils, crockery, cutlery. Take your meals in here on the small table and
benches or around the firepit.
Bathroom - Another nearby Shepherd's hut cabin has a hot shower, flushing loo and wash basin. Simple, clean and tidy! Please bring own towels and toiletries.
Outside - A generous decking surrounds the yurt within a spacious, sheltered plot bordered by hedges and trees. The gravelled area has chunky wooden seats around a heavy wrought iron brazier for evening camp fires and chats. On a clear night the stars absolutely sparkle! If you want a closer look, see if your visit coincides with a 'Preseli Astronomy Group' meeting http://www.astronomyclubs.co.uk/Clubs/Details.aspx?ClubId=193
Wood is provided for the brazier on a 'fair
use' basis, extra can be bought on site. Private parking is
just behind the yurt so getting luggage and shopping is is nice and easy.
The Site - Situated down rural lanes between Little Haven and Marloes, 'Monty's Yurt' sits in its own high-hedged plot behind the house, on a small private campsite which many years ago was part of the local RAF encampments but only a few tracks remain, Monty knows where everything was if you're interested in a 'virtual tour' (you'll need a good imagination!). If you time your visit right there may be some veg available from Monty's hothouse (we've had some lovely boxes of home grown tomatoes from him!), or if his friend has been fishing - some local shellfish could be bought to cook back at the yurt.
Local Area -The stunning award winning Pembrokeshire Coastal path and footpaths across the Preseli Hills (home of the Stonehenge Bluestones and Pentre Ifan) are among the finest in Wales. Beaches here win awards with reassuring regularity.
From here you have easy car access to most of Pembrokeshire's popular coastal sites, and indeed the majority of the County. All in all we believe this offers a fab yurt holiday for glamping in Pembrokeshire - it's a beautiful coastal county - no wonder it's being tipped as an undiscovered Cornwall.
Arrival - 4pm Departure 10am
