Glamping conjures up a lot of positive feelings when it comes to a staycation holiday in unsurpassed locations. What people will instantly realise when they visit the Copperbeech Bowtop Gypsy Wagon, near Cheshire, is that they are in a melting pot of quaintness, quietness and quirkiness.
Our newest charming gypsy wagon glamping abode incorporates a delightfully attractive Oak Lodge that is brimming with all the facilities you’ll need to make your stay a magical and memorable one. This delightful duo is neatly tucked away behind the cottage orchard with scrumptious views across the field, edged by a thicket of mature trees that offer a soothing rustle in the breeze.
There’s surely plenty to love about the amount of space and privacy glampers have to enjoy, particularly as you have it all to yourselves – with no other glamping abodes on this site – it’s like a VIP glamping experience, reserved just for you! So, if a private rural break that’s isn’t a million miles away civilisation, but far enough in to the wilds, is what you’re searching for, search no more!
Step inside Copperbeech and you’ll notice that this glamping accommodation has not long been restored, with a new lick of paint and fresh furnishing that provide the abode with colourful sari fabrics. The restoration has made this easily one of the most enticing and jolly wagons you’ll come across!
An unusual addition for a gypsy wagon for you to benefit from is the full size double mattress. What won’t be unusual is the ability to have a relaxing night’s sleep. Fresh country style bedding and cushions make it a particularly cosy space to snuggle in, and when there’s no sight or sound of the city, just the owls gently hooting you to sleep, you’ll feel like you’re in nirvana.
A defining feature of this glamping break is the oak framed Lodge, built using traditional methods it complements the wagon rather nicely with examples of local crafts and artwork. Even the crockery you’ll use has been hand-thrown by Louise the owner’s husband – it’s so gorgeous washing it up doesn’t feel like a chore! In here you can cook, eat and relax in comfort whatever the weather because living space, a fantastic kitchen, log burner and a luxury shower room are all under one roof. You might also feel a little pampered because fluffy towels, flannels, bathrobes and complimentary toiletries are all provided.
Pack that book you’ve been meaning to read for ages and get comfy on the veranda, maybe take a break to cook up some local produce on the BBQ. If you love trees, you’ll appreciate the old orchard and the mature specimen trees which were planted by Louise the owner’s Dad many years ago – including the stunning copper beech by the wagon. The wild spinney bordering the field has secret picnic places, so why not fill a basket with a chunk of proper Cheshire cheese (check out local cheesemakers H.S. Bournes), and a freshly baked loaf? All you then need is something to wash it down – a flask of hot tea perhaps, or a nice cool cider on a warm summer’s day. Delicious!
Are there any local attractions?
If you fancy heading off for the day to see what’s on offer nearby you’ll find historical places such as Beeston, Cholmondely and Peckforton Castles, Tatton park, Hawkestone Follies and Erdigg House, all offering a wealth of interesting things to see and do.
Do you want to eat local?
If discovering some of the local food appeals to you, you’re in for a treat. With the Harthill Cookery School, local cheesemakers, farm shops and markets situated close by, your visit becomes all the more special, and with these places all on hand to make your trip a tasty one, it’ll be hard to know whether to come again or just stay for good!
All-in-all, this glamping break is a great combination of childhood ‘camping out’ and a luxurious lodge holiday – you get the best of both worlds. So if home comforts with a hint of gypsy adventure are on your tick list, this Cheshire glamping wagon and lodge could certainly provide it!
