Fuel emissions are a pressing and worrying issue for the planet’s global warming problems, especially when you consider the number of cars in the world – there are over 250 million in the USA alone! Car manufacturers Hyundai and Kia have stepped in to…
…help stall the problems caused by fuel emissions by revealing their plans to triple the number of eco-friendly cars they manufacture by 2020.
This move would increase the number of eco-friendly cars available from 7 to 22, and would make them the world’s second largest manufacturer of eco-friendly vehicles, behind Toyota, who are already hugely successful with their Prius model. It is in line with emissions regulations in the USA, Europe and South Korea, which are asking car manufacturers to raise the fuel economy of their vehicles by at least 25% by 2020.
The range of models will include 12 gasoline-electric hybrid vehicles, with the range expanded to include both small cars and sport utility vehicles. There are also plans for 6 compact and mid-sized plug-in hybrids, as well as 2 fuel cell cars and 2 battery-powered electric cars.
As lovers not only of South Wales glamping but also the environment, we can’t help but think that this is excellent news which will do wonders to protect our planet for years to come!
