So you have packed everything you need and, let’s be honest, probably a few things you won’t need for a delightful Glamping UK holiday. There is one thing which you probably don’t have packed that could just make the difference between a good holiday and a great holiday.
When you’re sat enjoying a relaxing tipple of an evening with your loved ones and those persistent little guys we know as midge flies crash the proverbial party there’s not much you can do to thwart their advances. Often people don’t have much faith in citronella candles for combating these pests during outdoors time of an evening, simply because they didn’t seem to make any difference at all in keeping the insects at bay in some people’s opinions.
As we all like to spend a great deal of time outdoors in the evenings each summer if we can (the time at which midge flies are the most likely to be a nuisance), we thought we’d give you a fun way of curing the problem of unwanted visitors of this kind by making your own homemade bug-banishing candles. This is a great way to get young children involved in your holiday plans and it’ll keep them entertained before you go away too! The process is really quite simple.
Things you will need:
A few clean, dry glass jars
Frosted glass spray paint
Braided candle wick
Wooden clothes pins
Natural soy wax
Citronella essential oil (this is not the citronella-scented oil used to fill outdoor Tiki torches), found at natural food stores
Foam alpha or shape stickers.
Enjoy your Glamping holiday!
