1. How long have you been working at Quality Unearthed?

I have been with the company since the New Year, so this is my first season.

2. What is your job at Quality Unearthed?

I’m lucky enough to be able to travel the UK to meet our lovely owners, consult on glamping structures, check out fantastic areas of Britain, and liaise between owners, the sales team and the marketing team to make sure we get the best possible outcome for our owners.

3. If you could change your job title within the business to anything, what would it be?

Glamping Princess.

4. What do you think makes Quality Unearthed so unique?

We have a personal relationship with every one of our owners, and visit every site that we market – sometimes we test run the structures, too!  We believe that knowing who we’re working for on a personal level, and understanding their individual needs and the unique features of their properties help us do our job more effectively, and makes the business relationship a fruitful and enjoyable one.

5. Where is your favourite UK destination and why?

I have fallen in love with Dorset.  It has so much to offer – for literature fans, it’s prime Thomas Hardy territory.  For fans of seaside holidays, the Jurassic Coast is one of the most dramatic stretches of the British coastline.  Its geography is fantastic, from fishing ports to inland chalky downs.  And it’s the setting for the fantastic “Broadchurch”; glamping in Dorset is a real treat!

6. Do you have a favourite glamping abode?

This is a difficult question, as the term “glamping” encapsulates so many different abodes, ranging from beautiful bell tents to funky treehouses, from huge Mongolian yurts to historic shepherd’s huts. I think, for me, it’s about being in a stunning location.  It’s about waking up somewhere special, and having your morning cuppa with a bucolic view.

7. Give us an interesting fact about yourself:

I am also a singer and have travelled the world singing in blues bars and folk clubs.

8. What is your favourite thing about your job?

Meeting new and interesting people.  I love the relationship I have with our owners, and there is always undoubtedly an interesting story as to why they’ve chosen to start a glamping business and chosen a particular structure or theme for their site.

9. What is the best thing about glamping?

The freedom to be in the open air, or to be sitting around a campfire with your loved ones, or to explore an area of the British countryside you’d never have seen if it weren’t for the fact that someone had appreciated that spot and put a comfy bed there for you.

10. Do you have any top tips for anyone heading off on a glamping holiday?

Bring your wellies!  Britain is stunning, but part of the reason it is so lush and green is because of the amount of rain we have, so be prepared.  With the right gear, a little rain doesn’t need to dampen your holiday spirits.
