Have you been looking to find some family glamping with unique style? Well look no further! Maddle Brook safari tent’s beautiful location means it sits within 3,000 acres of the family owned Garnons Estate in Herefordshire, and being the gem that it is means that it is positively brimming with everything you could want from a glamping adventure.
The first thing to mention is that you have the whole space to yourselves, adults can enjoy the seclusion, children can run around freely, build dens and play pooh sticks in the brook. Many glamping abodes are located in shared spaces, so this gives you the extra element of exclusivity and privacy this type of holiday is so good at providing.
If you are planning a family trip, then you’ll no doubt want to keep your little ones active. The good news is that when you book a stay here you can relax in the knowledge that there are a whole host of activities to get children of all ages involved with. Archery, canoeing and mountain bikes are all on offer on-site with local companies for an extra fee. There is also the opportunity to bring your own bikes and canoes if you’d like.
Either after a full day of being active, or if you have come to simply chill out and enjoy the seclusion and privacy of the safari tent’s peaceful location, you can savour the fact you’re in a location that’s like being on a little island as the camp is in a bow of the brook and accessed via a small bridge.
Neighbouring Maddle Brook is the series of orchards that are responsible for providing fruit for two renowned national cider companies, as well as one red variety of apple named ‘Katy’, which is used exclusively to create a popular cider of the same name. Stroll through the orchard and you’ll discover your own private picnic and campfire spot on the Wye riverbank, with easy access for canoes, perfect for spending your days doing… well, whatever you feel like. Doesn’t that sound great?
Step inside Meddle Brook and you’ll see there is heaps of room in here for four. A private double bedroom with a chunky hand-made bed and a separate curtained-off bunk-bed den, a third child (up to 7 years old) can be accommodated on a ‘ready-bed’ for a £25 supplement.
We couldn’t not mention the log burner that is all set and ready to go for if you fancy those cosy evenings telling stories and chilling out. The quirky kitchen facilities are functional and fun, just about everything you might need is here. Take a peer outside and you’ll see a super large shower hut facility, encompassing a hot shower and flushing loo – shampoo and the obligatory fresh fluffy towels are provided!
If you have a family pet, the site is dog-friendly, however it’s important to bear in mind that Maddle Brook is by a working farm and sheep live nearby so therefore extra care must be given to avoid disturbing them and any other wildlife.
