A local Dorset-based business successfully reached the finals of prestigious Fresh Produce category at the Soil Association Best of Organic Market Awards Ceremony 2016.

A BOOM Awards display from the Soil Association

Goldhill Organics, who offer veg and meat box home deliveries, were included in the list of finalists in the fresh produce category of the 2016 Soil Association Best of Organic Market, or ‘BOOM’, Awards, thanks to its amazing organic vegetable boxes. BOOM offer the only specific awards that are solely dedicated to recognising organic produce in the UK, along with the cream of the crop in terms of organic food and drink.

Goldhill, which is run by husband and wife team Jane and Nick Somper, have now been trading for a full three years. Nick and Jane’s innovative company provides home deliveries of their organic fruit and vegetable boxes. They also offer a range of organic juicing boxes together along with grass-fed meat boxes, as well as a selection of larder and local artisan produce.

What makes Goldhill even more appealing is that it sources most of its organic vegetables from its home farm of the same name. The organic farm has boasted Soil Association Certification for more than quarter of a century, and the veggies are same-day picked and delivered so that the business can guarantee genuine freshness quality in every box.

Organic box schemes and independent organic enterprises have been successful in both growth and appeal recently, and reports highlight how there was an 8.2% increase in sales in 2015. With growth being mainly driven as a result of rises in ethical, environmental and social values, modern day consumers are progressively opting to purchase organic produce, as they want assurances in regards to the origins, produce and standards assurances.

The BOOM Awards have been recognising the achievements of businesses such as Goldhill for 30 years now, and are always aiming to find people to laud, from individuals to businesses, farmers, brands and caterers, who endeavour to make the difference in the UK’s food sector for the better.

Many of our glamping UK abodes offer organic food, often sourced at nearby farms, for you to enjoy as part of your stay, why not take a look and see where you’ll stay?
