This safari tent in ‘Buttercup’ was made by Albion Canvas and has been thoughtfully furnished with quality furniture and facilities, and is one of 2 quality Safari tents in the meadow. Joined in the field is ‘Cowslip’, another safari tent, positioned about 20 meters away on the other side of the bathroom / washing up cabin. There’s plenty of space between the tents so that you can enjoy your own company!

So if you are seeking to impress a loved one at this time of love and romance without having to book an overpriced hotel, surrounded by 100’s of strangers, and instead choosing a quaint and secluded location you can enjoy with your beau or belle, then let it be this. You won’t be disappointed!

Safari Tent Interior

The Safari tent has a bright, spacious interior sleeping up to 4 (max 2 adults) – two in a king-sized bed, and two children sharing the sofa bed (not suitable for adults) all bedding for sleeping in the Safari Tent is provided. If you prefer, you can bring a small tent to pitch nearby if you have older children (please bring bedding for own tent).

A log-fuelled range provides warmth on cooler evenings, with a hotplate and a small oven for cooking and baking. On the south facing deck is a gas hob, fridge, kitchen equipment, and for comfortable relaxing – patio chairs and a table.

Tina’s attention to comfort & convenience is evident – cushions, a hanging unit and heaps of storage – you won’t be ‘living out of a suitcase’ on this glamping holiday.

About 5 meters away is a large hut with a private bathroom with shower, hand basin and compost loo (empty-able type, not ‘hole in ground’) there’s also a flushing loo about 50 meters away in the Garden Centre (subject to opening times). Bathroom towels are provided. The log-fired boiler heats all your water and the bathroom (if you time it right you’ll have hot water for washing up too!). The bathroom water is recycled to water the plants whenever possible so please bear this in mind if you can, biodegradable toiletries work best.

The front of the hut that houses the bathrooms is open sided with a washing up area and general utility (shared with the other Safari Tent). Washing up liquid, tea-towels etc are provided, along with extra glasses and plates.

Extra Offerings

Daytime dog crèche, by prior arrangement you can leave your dog with Tina, £10 per day.

Beach Towels can be provided for £3 each.

Hamper, breakfast and BBQ packs (at £5 per head) of local produce to get your holiday off to a great foodie start!

Fresh bread for breakfasts can be pre-order the night before.

The Site

The Garden Centre grows plants, has a wide range of shrubs, roses, fruit trees and perennials. Owners Tina & Paul can usually be found mooching through the foliage & flowers!

A cute cabin houses the Tea Room where pots of tea and homemade cakes can be sampled, as well as local chutney, jams, honey, apple juice and other provisions for sale.

The Veg Shed, subject to availability, seasonal produce, eggs from the hens, fresh fruit & vegetables, grown locally wherever possible and some on site.

Devon has a wealth of attractions, history market towns, farmers markets, beaches, National Trust properties. It’s also close to the Exmoor and Dartmoor valleys making this a great location for a safari glamping break in Devon.
