We’ve all been there, quite often, in some cases, having to deal with the battle between keeping up with the washing and then finding the motivation to go and do some exercise. But now you can take care of the yawn-fest that is your clothes washing, get your exercise session out the way, and do your bit for the environment, all at the same time, leaving you plenty of time to focus on doing the things you enjoy most!
We can thank a group of students based in China for this creative invention, aptly named The Bike Washing Machine (or BiWa, as the students have dubbed it). It is essentially a human-powered washing machine that inspires you to multitask while conserving water at the same time as boosting your fitness levels in a fun, resourceful way.
You simply get pedalling which helps to spin and rotate the front wheel, which doubles up as a washing machine drum. What’s more, any excess energy created by burning off calories is used to power a display screen that keeps the cyclist on top of how the wash cycle’s progress is faring.
As of yet, the pioneering bike has not become available on the market, but with any luck the students, who designed their creation at Dalian Nationalities University in China, are hoping it will be at some point soon.
The Bike Washing Machine encourages you to conserve energy and get fit while completing household tasks, what’s not to love?
Think of the money that using one of these would save to put towards your UK yurt holidays!
