If you love a family day out while staying eco-minded, then why not treat the little ones to a visit to GreenWood Forest Park and go for a spin on their latest ride called SolarSplash?
The giveaway is in its name, but it really is quite remarkable that a water slide is running from solar-power, and what’s more is that it’s the first of its kind in the UK!
GreenWood Forest Park’s new £1-million SolarSplash ride in Gwynedd, is the second eco-ride at the park, following the addition of their ‘people powered coaster’ in 2015. That’s right, the rollercoaster actually produces its own power!
SolarSplash allows visitors to enjoy rides on inflatable boats as they descend down the fun 60m wave chutes alongside a 91m spiral tube chute.
GreenWood decided to install a set of solar panels, which help to run the ride, but also assist in meeting a significant 80% of the power needs for the entire park annually.
So the next time you are in Wales glamping or just on a day trip, take a trip to GreenWood Forest Park and do some thrill-seeking on the eco-friendly amusement park rides that are suitable for all the family!
