This gorgeous Vardo, bowtop, gypsy caravan has been lovingly restored and revamped to create a cosy yet luxurious glamping experience. Brimming with traditional charm and character, this authentic travelling abode has been expertly equipped with a variety of added indulgences including its own private hot-tub for a relaxing soak with your beau.
The property has been delightfully designed with sperate kitchen and bathroom huts sitting conveniently either side. Guests can enjoy a selection of deluxe amenities including underfloor heating in all three spaces, high-speed Wifi to keep you connected as well as full bathroom facilities with a hot rainfall shower and flushing toilet. A glorious welcome hamper including homemade freshly baked bread and fresh free range eggs from the hosts' own chickens is the finishing touch on this romantic retreat.
The site is wonderfully positioned on the border between Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, and Lincolnshire offering an interesting mix of things to do and see, combined with a cosy space to unwind and snuggle up in the evenings.
Children welcome too, but please be aware of the limited sleeping arrangements. Children are charged at £15 per child per night. Please speak to an advisor if you would like to add a child to your stay.
The caravan and adjoining shepherds huts are set in their own private garden sheltered by a large garden fence with trees and shrubs around the outside. You will find outdoor decking and sun area to sit out and enjoy the warm summer evenings, while a gas barbecue is available for guests to use at their pleasure. In addition, the site is home to a few lovely goats all with their own distinctive character, which adds to the authentic appeal of the place.
The site is in the quiet and pretty little village of Guyhirn, with the Nene Way (national footpath) providing beautiful riverside walks quite literally immediately across the road! Guyhirn is ideally positioned to set out and explore a number of other interesting towns and villages in the vicinity, within easy striking distance of the towns of Peterborough (lots of shopping), March, Wisbech (home to one of the founders of the National Trust and some wonderful period properties), the ancient port of King's Lynn, the Royal residence at Sandringham, the north Norfolk coast and of course the wonderful university city of Cambridge
The Oliver Twist Country Inn and Restaurant is only a short five-minute walk and is highly rated for its delicious evening meals.... not to mention quality real ales or whatever your tipple might be!
You can also find, within a ten-minute walk, an entertainment centre providing an indoor play area for children, ten pin bowling and laser tag! Also popular nearby is a Raptor centre which provides some amazing hands-on experiences with owls, hawks and the like. However, if you'd prefer to fly yourself then there is a parachuting centre where you can make your first jump! Both of these would however normally need to be planned and booked in advance of your stay.
The gypsy caravan is equipped with a wonderfully comfy double bed (a full 6'3" long!), which sits snuggly in the rafters, so mind your head on the way in, while below you will find a cosy seating area with laptop space, plug sockets, USB charging points and decorative lights. The caravan is filled with genuine features, which add to the authentic charm and intrigue of this gorgeous space.
Two deluxe shepherd huts sit expediently either side, which offer an added element of luxury to your stay. The kitchen hut comes equipped with everything you will need including hob, fridge, microwave that is also a fan oven, coffee maker and utensils, plus some basic cooking essentials.
The luxurious bathroom hut is appointed with a lovely hot rainwater shower and full bathroom facilities including a flushing toilet. Also, you'll find some basic bathroom necessities as well as super soft complimentary towels.
A delightful welcome hamper including freshly baked bread and free-range eggs, laid on site, is also provided.
