A gorgeous family cabin, sleeping two adults and two children not far from the glorious North Devon coast. Delightfully set alongside a gentle fishing lake, Spekes Mill is ideally positioned to explore a multitude of breathtaking walks and beaches. The hand-crafted family cabin is beautifully appointed, including fully equipped bathroom and kitchen, a sumptuous double bed for mum and dad, and charming bunk beds for the little ones. The well-insulated cabin is equipped with everything you need, including tv, electric heating and fully functioning kitchen and bathroom. On-site the lake is awash with various species of fish - with coarse fishing free to guests, while the tennis courts offer another activity to keep you entertained.
The secluded site is a far cry from the vociferous clamor of city life, with mazy country paths leading down to the beautifully rugged north Devonshire coast, offering world-renowned beaches and mesmerizing coastal jaunts. The charming little villages of Harland Point (1.5 miles) and Clovelly (5 miles) offer delightful spots to wander through, with cobbled streets and historic shops filled with gifts and goodies. Plenty of pubs and places to eat are within a short drive of the site, while a wonderful family run spa is located a short walk away. Treat yourself to a number of warming treatments or take a dip in the heated pool for a luxurious experience on your stay. Pop into the spa reception to arrange treatments or use of the facilities.
Interiors and Facilities
Spekes Mill is a family cabin equipped with a king-sized bed for the adults and bunk beds for the kids. The cabin has a fully stocked kitchenette, to one side of the cabin, which comes with an electric hob, oven, sink, fridge, cutlery and crockery. There is a sofa and flat screen TV for quiet evenings, as well as an en-suite bathroom. The shower room, neatly tucked behind the sleeping area, has a constant hot water supply and a washbasin and flushing toilet. The cabin is heated electrically, has double glazing and is well insulated; making it cosy all year round! And for balmy summer evenings, the cabin has its own deck with seating and a BBQ for outdoor feasts.
Situation and Location
Barley Bay is well placed to explore a range of coastal walks and beaches in the area. North Devon is famous for awe-inspiring coastline, rocky coves and beautiful sandy beaches. The coastal path is a little over 1 mile from the site, while the nearest beach, Blegberry is a around 1.5 miles. However, Blegberry is quite difficult to access, so may not be entirely suitable to families with children but offers plenty of privacy and seclusion for those looking to get away from it all. The nearest sandy beach, Hartland Key is located 2.5 miles from the site, while the vast beach of Sandy Mouth is approximately 15 mins drive. Lots of big sandy beaches are within 30 minutes' drive of the location.
The historic towns of Hartland (1.5 miles) and Clovelly (5 miles) with their cobbled streets are located nearby, while the nearest pub is in Heartland, of which there are 3 to choose from. The nearest restaurant, Pattard Kitchen is within walking distance, which offers a unique farm to fork dining experience for authentic taste of Devon. The nearest local shop is 1.5 miles away, which stays open late.
