What stands out about this Dorset glamping Safari tent? The epic
private location!
Imagine lying in a summer meadow in the middle of a 75 acre
organic farm, bees and butterflies are busy about the flowers,
buzzards glide overhead and a few deer graze idly near the woods.
Well, right next to you is your holiday pad, this fabulous family
safari tent! The whole farm is in a designated 'Area of Outstanding
Natural Beauty', some of it is also of 'Special Nature Conservation
Interest' - as you can imagine, it's rather special out here.
The Safari is elegantly poised at the top of a gently sloping
meadow with sweeping views over the Dorset countryside and
woodlands to the fore. The woods are home to wild Fallow and Roe
deer who very nicely provided us with the inspiration for the decor
theme (along with a little 'Highland' input). It's quite likely you
will see them out on the meadows grazing, if you are quiet
enough.
Interior
The main feature of the open plan living space are the substantial
patio table and chairs - oh boy are they comfy, one could certainly
while away a happy few hours here - too easy to take a nap! Move it
out onto the decking for the most amazing al-fresco meals and
relaxing views.
At the back of the tent are two generous bedrooms, first the bunk
room, then immediately left is a door into the double. They are
separated from the main living space and each other by a wooden
partition providing a degree of privacy and noise reduction -
rather handy when you've put the kiddies to bed. All bedding is
provided.
Bathroom
Nearby a (slightly Gothic!) wooden hut houses a particularly smart
eco loo (child seat available), and hot shower enclosure. Towels
are provided.
Outside
This glamping safari tent has a particularly generous decked
verandah where you can sit undercover but still soak up the views.
if you love sitting in the open air watching the world go by, this
spot would be hard to beat. A large BBQ is provided, and a picnic
bench, which you can move about to wherever suits.
The Site
Is a 75 acre organic farm privately owned by two of the nicest
people you'll ever meet, Lesley and Julian are fabulous hosts and
have created an amazing Dorset glamping holiday. The owners have
horses, so if you want to bring your own along, stabling or grass
keep can be provided (small fee applies, please contact us for
details).
As well as deer, your neighbours will include badgers, buzzards,
foxes, pheasants and even ravens. In summer the wild flowers in the
meadows attract many moths and butterflies. It's nothing short of a
nature lover's paradise.
Dorset is a stunning county, with verdant countryside and
three-quarters of the coastline classed as a World Heritage Site
featuring prominent landforms such as Lulworth Cove, the Isle of
Portland, Chesil Beach and Durdle Door. There's plenty to do and
see on this family glamping holiday near the gorgeous Dorset
coast!
