Majestically perched at the top of its own private field, with magnificent views over rolling Dorset hills sits Badgers Hut, a beautifully renovated Second World War gun carriage for two. This countryside sanctuary is the perfect tonic for rumbustious city living, with peace and tranquillity ingrained in its very core; the ideal setting for a romantic couples escape with your own private wood-fired hot tub.

The owners are currently in the midst of a rewilding project to help restore the farmland to its former natural splendour. Prepare yourself for an eco-friendly escape amongst the flourishing fauna, with a lovely mix of livestock and native wildlife. Guests are invited to enjoy this tranquil paradise at their own pleasure while also being respectful to the landscape. Please be careful not to leave any waste behind, which could influence the project.

The carriage has been attractively designed and restored to create a warm and cosy interior, which contains a wood-burning stove and comfy double bed, as well as full cooking facilities, including a gas-powered hob and fridge. The accommodation also benefits from a full ensuite bathroom with hot showers and natural composting toilet. In addition to outside seating and firepit, you can sink into your wood-fired hot tub, perfect for heart-warming nights amongst the stars.

This candescent corner of English countryside is delightfully positioned near the historical market town of Shafetsbury, and offers a great base for exploring a profusion of country walks and hillside jaunts in the area.

Guests can also treat themselves to delicious home-cooked stews, which are available on request. Speak to the lovely owners on arrival to arrange a luxurious evening meal.

A gorgeous collection of local delicacies can be found in your breakfast hamper, including homemade bread, plus sausages and bacon for a lovely brekkie. Store cupboard essentials such as fresh coffee, tea, and sugar are also provided.

Right behind the hut, you will find a separate cabin with a smart composting loo, hot and cold running water, washbasin and shower. Towels and locally made toiletries are provided.

A solar-powered battery provides enough electricity to charge your fundamentals.

The Carriage is tucked away in the top corner of its own private field well away from other dwellings. The small 65 Acre Farm is home to a few cows, three gorgeous collies and sometimes a few sheep, which are occasionally let loose around badgers to munch on the grass.

A small seated area outside the carriage is a great spot for relaxing and making the most of the sweeping views across the leafy grounds. Sit back and watch the world go by, which around here simply means an assortment of birds and bees fluttering past with the occasional whistling cry of a buzzard in the sky.

Outdoor seating and a designated fire-pit is perfect for star gazing on a clear night and magical nights next to the twirling flames and provides a lovely spot to sit and relax on dry days.

The historical market town of Shaftesbury is not far away with its cobbled streets and renowned Gold Hill (made famous by the "Hovis" advert) offering a selection of good eateries and places to see.

Dorset offers an abundance of delightful cycling and walking routes, with its voluptuous curves and winding tracks inviting discovery and exploration. Sat atop the magnificent Bulbarrow Hill, which rises to around 900 feet, it is possible to see as many as seven different counties on a clear day and is popular with walkers and cyclists alike.
