Summer glamping couldn't get much more idyllic than this. Surrounded by old apple trees, with private riverside access and just enough modern conveniences, this is a great place to unwind as two couples or for a countryside family holiday. The restored Vardo wagon and its counterpart, a Bell Tent, are nestled into a mature cider apple orchard and is a great place to head for if you're in need of a break from the stresses of work-life, and quality time spent with your family.

Forget about everything for a while - gaze into flickering flames in the brazier, watch shadows on the Black Mountains from the sofa, be dazzled by starry skies, lie back in the grass and look for pictures in the clouds. For the kids, there's a toy box full of outdoor games, as well as plenty of hide and seek spots, and wildlife galore for the spotting. Sleep well, because the mattresses were specially made to fit the interior dimensions, while the stove will keep the double Wagon nice and warm.

A short stroll across the orchard and down a quirky set of steps is your private riverside picnic spot. If you don't want the smaller children near the water's edge, there's a padlocked gate above the river, keeping the children safe and the adults happy.

We can't think of many places that would be more idyllic on a British summer afternoon - share a glass of something bubbly or a gooey, flame-licked marshmallow, and share stories over the fire with the people closest to you.  This is a halcyon holiday spot that your children will fondly remember for years to come.

There's a great pub nearby for those feeling fit, but everything you need to cook some great food is right here in the fantastic field shelter kitchen - gas hob, fridge, dining table and chairs - enjoy views of mountains from the sofa! This is a really lovely covered area for cooking, eating and relaxing with your family after a day of adventure on the banks of the Wye.

If quirky is your thing, you will love the rustic bathroom hut with its shower that's open to the skies, and one of the most unique glamping loos we've seen! Even washing up here is a joy in the Eastnor, old Belfast sink, as butterflies and bees hover by.

The Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a protected area, rich in heritage and worth exploring if you haven't already done so. Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo, Clearwell Caves, Brecon Mountain Railway., Rowlestone Court

Historic properties and Gardens: Hampton Court Castle and gardens, Brobury Gardens, Burton Court,  The Judges Lodgings,  Goodrich Castle, Westonbury Water Mill and Gardens, Eastnor Castle, Amazing Hedge Puzzle Wye Valley Visitor Centre, Hereford Cathedral.

Festivals: Ledbury Poetry Festival at the beginning of July, Three Choirs Festival at the end of July, Hay on Wye Literary Festival.

Local Food and drink: Monkland Cheese Dairy, Given that you're in a cider apple orchard it would be churlish to miss the Cider Museum in Hereford, as well as the Herefordshire & Wye Valley Cider Route. If wine is your tipple check out the Paunton Court or From Valley Vineyards, or for beer the Wye Valley Brewery (yes Hereford has all your refreshment options covered!).

Theatre & Galleries: Wobage Makers Gallery Upton Bishop, Apple Store Gallery, Old Chapel Gallery Pembridge, Lion gallery Leominister, and the Courtyard Centre for the Arts. Hay on Wye is 15 minutes away, and even without the Festival is a fascinating town to visit.
