‘Doris’ is one of two gorgeous hand-crafted Shepherds Huts in the beautiful south-west Peak District near Leek and Buxton – a fantastic base for walking and cycling breaks. With sweeping views across the Manifold Valley and starry night skies - there's more space than you will know what to do with!
This is the kind of place where you can truly appreciate amazing starry skies and breathe in the space and freedom – so much so, one phrase that keeps coming up about this place is ‘feeling on top of the world’!
Check-in - 3pm / Check -out - 10am
Leek has a local producers market on the 1st Sunday of each month offering scrumptious foodie treats. It’s also packed with cafes and quirky independent shops including antiques and reclaimed / shabby-chic styles. Check out the quirky ‘Watt Russell’ pub and its weekend tapas, or maybe the smart gastro pub ‘The George’ at Alstonefield. A little further afield is the spa town of Buxton with its eclectic mix of shops, cafes and the Bath buildings.
The Peak District is a cyclists and walkers heaven, bikes can be hired locally – or if you have your own, there is secure storage here. The impressive ‘Thor’s Cave’ and a pub lunch are both located on a circular walk... or just relax and enjoy the space ad peace around your glamping Hut, the choice is yours!
The cute windows and stable door make you feel as if you’re in a mini cottage on wheels, yet you can still enjoy a great night’s sleep on a really comfy double mattress, and your little one can camp out on the fold down bunk above the double bed. If you don't have a little one please call in to book for a £10 per night reduction for just 2 people.
There’s an equipped kitchenette and a cute fold away table with chairs nearby for that morning coffee or a contemplative gaze out of the window! This Hut is ‘off-grid’ with solar powered lighting and a log burner for warmth and cooking – there’s also a little oven in the stove for baking and stews. A handy feature of these huts is the en-suite eco-loo which means you don’t have to leave the comfort of the hut to use it.
About 100 meters away in the utility is a lockable cupboard with sockets and USB charge points, mains electricity, a freezer with fresh ice packs for the cool box, and a washing up area. Through the Utility room is a separate, modern large shower room with heated towel rail and flushing loo. Both huts use these facilities.
Arrival between 3pm - 6pm Departure 11am
