Nestled in the fields of Shropshire near Ludlow, this cute and cosy cabin is a perfect escape for a couple or small family. Equipped with a log burner and a snug but spacious king-sized bed, nights at the Timber Retreat will make you feel warm and fuzzy inside. Enjoy a glass of fizz in the hot tub with your beau, or toast marshmallows over the firepit under starry skies - pure bliss.
Luxury robes are provided so that guests can enjoy lazy mornings, while fresh coffee and a cooked breakfast can be delivered hot to your door. The cabin perfectly soaks up the sun throughout the day, creating a lovely setting to relax in the gardens and decking outside.
The cabin is located a short walk away from owners Alex and Tracey's home but with enough distance to maintain it's privacy. The lovely owners really have thought of everything to make guests as comfortable as possible. Those arriving late at night can arrange a meal to be left in the cabin - choose from a cold food platter in summer to a hot meal bubbling in the slow cooker in winter (please call in advance to arrange). There is also a double hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, and fridge for those wishing to prepare their own food.
The bathroom is well supplied with organic toiletries and there is a double-ended bath and rain shower. This luxury little retreat offers everything you need for a relaxing and tranquil countryside escape.

Whilst Timber Retreat is a great place to escape away from the haste of everyday life, it's also perfectly located to serve as a base for the market towns of Shropshire. Ludlow is awash with choice for boutique shopping and first class dining,
Places to eat
The Wheatsheaf - A friendly pub serving hearty meals at a reasonable price. A great atmosphere and historical setting to enjoy food in. They are also dog friendly.
Mortimers -A fabulous spot for those looking to treat themselves to something special. Mortimers really lends itself to special occasions. The food and wine are both exemplary as is the service and knowledge of the staff.
Pizza Ten - A top spot for families, Pizza Ten serves delicous pizzas and they are available for take away too. Also accomodating for gluten and dairy free diners.
Baker's of Tower Street - A lovely cafe which has a great reputation for it's breakfasts, coffee and cake. They are also dog friendly so it's the perfect place to pop in and grab a cuppa after a walk with your pooch.
Things to do
Ludlow Brewing Company - Learn about the history of the Ludlow Brewery and sample some of their beers on a brewery tour. The building itself is magnificent and has an old age vibe about it. Be warned you will need to get a taxi home afterwards.
Ludlow Castle - Step back in time with a visit to Ludlow Castle. Learn all about the rich history of the town and keep an eye out for markets which are run often from the castle grounds.
Ludlow Market - The market at Ludlow is a true testament to the local population. Supporting small independent businesses, you can pick up some treasures here. Full of local cheeses, breads and delights.
Mortimer Forest - Experience unspoiled nature in Mortimer Forest. A great place for children and adults alike. There are ample routes throughout the forest so visitors will find themselves on secluded paths. It's a magical place to explore. There is free parking and visitors can study the various walking routes beforehand as there are many of varying length. Visit in springtime when the woodland is awash with bluebells.
