Ever wanted to run away with the Circus?!
This genuine 1920's Showman's wagon is one of the best examples of its kind currently available for a glamping holiday. She might be showing her age a little but if you appreciate authenticity, here is an opportunity to experience a unique break in a vintage Circus Wagon.
In their heyday, these wagons were called 'palaces on wheels' due to their highly decorated interiors. Currently owned by the hospitable Nink (who was once a circus performer) it would have originally been the travelling home of the Circus owner and Ringmaster himself.

The wagon is divided into three rooms, first up is the dinky kitchen with quaint cupboards and a vintage stove, although it's just for show these days it certainly adds to the quirkiness! To preserve the wagon's antique interior cooking facilities have been kept minimal with a kettle, microwave and toaster providing the basics, however, the BBQ provides a good back up!
Next door is the panelled sitting room with original cupboards and cut glass mirrors - it has quite an atmosphere. At night twinkling lights reflect on glass and mirrors to create a nostalgic atmosphere, especially when the log burner is flickering away. It's a magical space in which to read, play board games and chat.
The bedroom is very cosy (yes, small!) with a built-in raised bed (a hop up is required) from which you can admire the hand painted and gold-leaf decorations on the ceiling. All bedding and linens are provided.
Bathroom
A few meters away is a simple heated cabin adjacent to the farm building, which facilitates the hot shower, WC and sink. Towels are provided.
The Grounds
Outside, the patio and BBQ are enclosed in a small fenced garden with views over the Estate grounds and lake. It's a cosy little spot, reminds us of a cottage garden! The BBQ fire-pit can be used for cooking or as a campfire, so make the most of starry skies as there is little light pollution here.
Nink's Wagon sits adjacent to the stable farm building which, along with the new farmhouse, sits on 60 acres of sweeping, tranquil grounds. The original stately home has long gone but the genteel tranquillity of a rural English Estate tangibly lingers on.
A large badger set sits on the edge of nearby woodland making watching these beautiful creatures very accessible and a small peaceful lake is within a couple of minutes walk. Enjoy a stroll and maybe a picnic at the lakeside - it's a great spot for bird watching too.
Local Area
Shropshire is still something of an undiscovered gem, a few minutes away is Ellesmere and the lakes, Hawkestone Park golf course & Follies, Chirk and Whittington Castles. Further afield are Church Stretton, the Stiperstone Hills, Ludlow and the beautiful Medieval town of Shrewsbury with fine architecture, museums, Shrewsbury Castle and Theatre Severn.
The character and authenticity of this unique wagon are remarkable and sure to make your vintage glamping stay here a memorable one. Nink's Wagon is located on the same site as Romany Rose Vickers (approx 60 meters away), both can be booked together accommodating up to four people in caravan travelling style!
