Cherry Yurt is one of the colourful contributions to Cherrygrove
group glamping site, and comfortably sleeps 4 people under its
stunning scarlet rafters. Cherry Yurt rests with its siblings Moonslade, Meadow, Gotten Down, Elderflower and Furzeclose in a large wildflower meadow,
overlooking Somerset's stunning Quantock Hills. This
traditional, hand-painted structure, with crimson roof poles, is a
striking space for an adventurous holiday in the Somerset
hills. Take your family on a wildlife walk into the ancient
royal hunting ground that is now Exmoor, or cycle the many trails
that start west of North Petherton and into the Quantocks, or visit
the lambs on owners Emma and Mark's farm, a few hundred yards down
the track from the site. At the end of a busy day, after
cramming in the plethora of fun-filled pursuits that this beautiful
corner of the West Country has to offer, you can call this salient
structure home. Snuggle up under its canvas cover with its
beautiful clear crown for a restful sleep under the Somerset
With a double bed, and a futon for the kids, and high-quality facilities such as hot showers and a large communal kitchen area, this pretty yurt is the perfect spot for wholesome family holidays.
Interior & Facilities
This sunny, spacious yurt comfortably accommodates a double bed
and a double futon, sleeping 4 people. A dining table and
chairs allows for light meals or card game championships with the
kids once the sun has gone down. The small amount of
electricity to the yurts provides lamp light as well as USB charge
points if you remember that you own a phone (we guarantee you'll be
too busy to even use it). A small wood-burning stove comes
with a basket full of logs and a kettle - be vigilant of little
ones around the fire.
Outside, Cherry Yurt has its own deck, upon which sits some chars for lounging in the sun, and your own barbecue - bring your own sausages!
For more intricate dinners, the converted Dutch barn has a fully equipped kitchen and dining room. This space contains an electric oven with hob, a fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster, as well as full cooking utensils and appliances.
Adjoining this room is a large bathroom with 4 hot water shower cubicles and 4 flushing toilets, as well as wash basins.
Just outside the Dutch barn you'll find a chill out area with tables for al fresco dining, and a large fire pit.
Cherry Yurt is an ideal base for those who want to explore this diverse part of Southern England. Rural Exmoor, with its wild red deer and even wilder open moorland, is only around 12 miles from the yurt. Travel a little further west to explore the North Somerset coastline, including the beach at Combe Martin, Kilve or the beautiful St Audrie's Bay in the Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding National Beauty.
