Sitting in the shadow of England's first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Moonslade Yurt is a vibrant space for a family of 4 to spend an enjoyable staycation in Somerset. This structure shines like a sapphire in amongst its sister yurts at Cherrygrove, a family friendly glamping site north of Taunton. Moonslade Yurt is appealing not just for its peaceful location and comfortable interior, but its bright blue, hand-painted beams make it one of our most appealing yurts. Owners Mark and Emma have reflected the vibrancy of the yurt in its furnishings and decoration - teal cushions, rich aquamarine rugs and duck egg blue accessories - making this a bright, cheerful and inviting space for you and your family.
When you're not out and about enjoying the lush countryside that stretches between the magical Quantock Hills and the mysterious Exmoor National Park, Moonslade Yurt and its fabulous facilities are the perfect place to relax with your loved ones.
Cook up a family feast, go hunting for insects, learn to birdwatch, toast marshmallows over an open fire - give yourselves a digital detox and immerse yourselves in the pleasures of a simpler existence during your stay at the calming and colourful Moonslade Yurt.
Somerset is an unappreciated part of the UK. It's home to some of the most widespread nature reserves and undisturbed coastline and is Cornwall's more rural neighbour. This particular area, West of Taunton Vale and east of Exmoor, is a tranquil pocket between naturally dramatic hills and moorlands, home to some of Britain's most beautiful indigenous species, including one of the oldest breeds of wild pony in the world, the Exmoor pony.
Moonslade Yurt accommodates a family of four on a double bed and two fold out beds. Cots for very small children are also available.
As well as cosy sleeping space, there's a large dining table and chairs for big breakfasts or epic board game evenings, as well as a bench and barbecue outside for sunset dinners. There are some electric charge points in the yurt for mobiles and tablets, as well as electric lamps and lighting, and the wood-burning stove provides warmth and a glowing light to help set a relaxing ambience for your stay.
Nearby, the owners have converted a Dutch barn into a beautiful kitchen and dining space, complete with ovens, microwaves, all the tools you'd need for cooking up a feast, as well as a large dining space to fit several families.
Within this space is a large bathroom block, with 4 hot water showers, 4 toilets and wash basins, as well as baby changing facilities.
Please note that this yurt is on a site containing 4 other yurts and a geodome. Please see listings for Cherrygrove (7096) and Elderflower Dome (7117) to book a group listing.
