Blackberry Perch is a family glamping cabin, architect designed and built to high standards by treehouse experts 'Blue Forest'. Set in 30 acres of land nestled within the South Downs National Park, the cabin is 30 minutes north of bustling Brighton, and less than 2 hours from London. Perfect for a family holiday or short break.
Visit Brighton - walk the pier, a spot of shopping, eat and drink in the many good eateries - the Japanese at Oki Nami is Tim's favourite. Or visit the Sea Life Centre.
Walk or cycle the South Downs - Britain's latest National Park.
Take in the white cliffs of Seven Sisters
Take the kids to Drusilla's Park
The south coast is building a reputation for quality wines - sparkling white ones in particular - one of the few positive side effects of climate change. Why not visit a local vineyard, of course tasting is a must!
After a day out it's always good to find a nice country pub to relax in, and within a 40 minute walk through woods and fields there is the Half Moon at Plumpton. A gourmet gem is the Jolly Sportsman and if quality food with good views is in order, consider booking a table here. In Ditchling, The Bull is a good all rounder pub and White Horse is a good 'locals' pub, about 2 miles from Blackberry Perch glamping cabin.
Quality in this spacious glamping cabin extends throughout, including the furnishings and fittings with a smart fitted shower room and kitchen - all the fun of glamping with all the mod cons! The main living space is open plan with a double bed, and a bunk bed in its own room - great if you want to stay somewhere unusual with the benefits of a cottage, as the kids sleep comfortably in their own room.
Blackberry Perch cabin is light and more spacious than many glamping options, and being well insulated with heating and a wood burning stove, it's a toasty winter break too! Self-catering cooking facilities are provided through the built in kitchen including 4 gas hobs. Other bits and bobs include toaster, fridge, cutlery crockery and pots and pans.
You can while away evenings around your own campfire, or even cook your supper out there. The paddock is shared with 4 other glamping abodes with another communal fire pit area, so if you fancy chatting to your fellow glamping neighbours, we're sure you will have stories to share.
The site is geared towards children running around the woods and communal area, exploring and enjoying adventures! A walk through the woods and over the handcrafted bridge will lead them to a kids play area with sit on zip wire, a crooked kids den, slack rope and tyre swing. Like any forest there are hazards so please be responsible and sensible, and we would ask you to exercise discretion.
To save extra trips to the shops there is a convenient little store on site, reminiscent of a Caribbean beach shack it stocks the basics including additional firewood and BBQ coals.
