Who We Are
We moved to Carmarthenshire from the South of England four years ago to bring up our family in the countryside and be closer to nature. We scoured the counties of South West Wales - but fell in love with Carmarthenshire, with its stunning scenery, relaxed pace of life, and beautiful beaches and castles. And when we spotted the 22-acre Tirbach Farm nestling above the River Pib, and close by the beautiful village of Brechfa - we knew we'd found our ideal home. Since that time we've been taking our time to get to know the area, growing the smallholding and developing a luxury glamping site that we can be truly proud of. During the site's development, we have used local craftspeople, suppliers and materials. We were also thrilled to be able to get our yurts built in Carmarthenshire by a team which try where possible to source materials locally, We've really poured our hearts into building our glamping site - and we hope you like it!
Wellbeing is really important to us, and we think the atmosphere of a site depends as much on the people running it as it does on the location or facilities. So we're friendly and approachable, and alongside that, it's our aim is to make your stay at Brechfa Glamping as good as it can be. We're always working to improve our site and do things better - so if you've got suggestions or things you want to share with us, we'd love to hear from you. We hope you enjoy your holiday with us.
Becki and Adam x
22 acre Tirbach Farm nestles above the banks of the Afon (River) Pib, just outside the picturesque village of Brechfa. 'Tir' means land and 'bach' means small - and we're still a small farm today - with a bit of a difference. Cows and sheep graze no longer the fields -instead we've built up the farm alongside the luxury glamping yurts and are delighted to be the proud owners of a herd of Hukaya and Suri alpacas, with babies called Cria.
Our Alpacas just love meeting people. Well-known for being amazingly relaxing company and for the therapeutic effect they have on humans, our alpacas have really added another dimension to the farm. And we love them so much we're sure you will too. Guests will get the opportunity to meet the herd and help us with their feeding. We can introduce you to our rare breed Brecon Buff geese, Cream Legbar and Light Sussex chickens along with way.
We continue to develop Tirbach Farm in harmony both for our animals and for the abundant wildlife here.
We are passionate about pilates and Becki is a trained teacher with Body Control Pilates.
"Becki is brilliant - she has a rare talent for making exercise fun" (Liz - client)
Her specialist area of interest is in rehabilitation and injury prevention, which comes from her own experience of back pain which required an operation in 2005. Afterwards, Becki started going to a Pilates teacher for 121 sessions where she experienced first hand the benefits of this amazing form of movement.
And we're thrilled to be able to offer Pilates Glamping breaks on specified weekends. Our beautiful new wooden roundhouse with log burning stove and full-length windows overlooking the Alpaca field is the location for the classes during your stay.
What is Body Control Pilates?
Body Control Pilates offers a comprehensive programme of exercises for both mat and machine work. They are adapted from the 'classical' exercises developed by Joseph Pilates. We believe that many of these classical exercises are often not suitable for the average person and the average body. In order for someone to work safely and effectively and to gain the full benefits of Pilates, these classical exercises should be broken down to establish good movement skills thus building the best possible foundation upon which to progress towards the classical, more advanced work. This is the essence of the Body Control Pilates Method.
Aims & ethics
It's really important to us to support the local economy and be part of the community here, and we're so proud to have been able to use many great local suppliers in developing Brechfa Glamping and our farm. For example, we worked in partnership with West Wales Willow to install a green fedge along our boundary - benefitting nature and giving a beautiful soft green edge to the site, which will also provide us with biofuel in due course. We're so fortunate that our site is walkable to friendly, picturesque Brechfa village, with all its amenities including an excellent shop run by the community itself and an acclaimed pub and restaurant which we always encourage our guests to enjoy.
The yurts are locally built in Carmarthenshire and traditionally handcrafted from locally sourced wood.
In Harmony with Nature
We are deeply committed to nature and the environment here at Brechfa Glamping; we work with the wildlife and encourage it where possible. Tirbach farm is fortunate to have a wide variety of different habitats - and as a result, a diverse range of wildlife is at home here. By the river in the glamping field, we have a wildlife habitat area with different grasses and flowers established naturally, and we've installed a bug hotel, hedgehog house, and several bird nesting boxes to encourage more wild visitors.
It's also important to use to think about resources and recycling, so we've installed two compost toilets on-site and encourage our guests to make use of the recycling facilities to ensure our collective footprint is as light as possible.

With picnic tables, free-range wildlife areas, an orchard to discover and alpacas grazing in the next field - there's plenty for children to explore.
The Practical Stuff

In our brand new facilities block, we have hot showers, flush toilets, and a wash-up area including a microwave, fridge, and kettle. You will have private access (with private key) to luxury toilet and shower within the facilities block.
Meet our Alpacas
Our Alpacas just love meeting the guests! These animals - looking for all the world like giant cuddly teddy bears when their fleeces are long - are well-known for their relaxing nature and the therapeutic effect they have on humans. Spending time with these animals is memorable, and every alpaca has its own distinct character to connect with. The alpacas and our rare breed livestock get on famously (most of the time!) - so we can introduce you to our rare breed Brecon Buff geese, Cream Legbar and Light Sussex chickens along with way.
If you enjoy being at one with nature you'll be right at home. We have a wide variety of different habitats on the farm and we are home to a diverse range of wildlife. By the river, we have a wildlife habitat area, where different grasses and flowers grow naturally, and we've installed a bug hotel, hedgehog house, and several bird nesting boxes. In the summer you can spot Swallows and Buzzards soaring overhead, while the Goshawks which nest in the nearby Brechfa Forest are with us all year round. And from the glamping field, we have beautiful views of the Afon (river) Pib which meanders along the bottom of the field and is often visited by a Grey Heron.
The Cambrian Mountains of Wales offer some amazing landscapes and glamping possibilities. These properties have made the most of the incredible wilderness that surrounds them, a wilderness just waiting to be discovered by you. Enjoy nature and trails and after sunset watch the sky fill up with five thousand stars and more, as you relax under world-class dark skies.
Picturesque, friendly Brechfa village was one of the many reasons we settled here at Tirbach Farm. A truly lovely village - here you will find an excellent Community-run Shop, with a wide range of products including local and organic produce, as well as the famous Forest Arms Pub and the Ty Mawr Restaurant, with local craft beers, local produce and a good reputation both locally and further afield.
On the first Saturday of the month Brechfa has its own market with bacon baps, home-made cakes and local crafts to buy; the perfect place to experience local life, chat with the locals and take home gifts for family and friends. And for families there is also a childrens' playground in the village.
The Brechfa Forest
The Brechfa Forest has over 17,000 acres of ancient forest and managed woodland and is renowned as a haven for walkers and mountain bikers - with some of the best trails in Europe right here on our doorstep. A great starting point for trails is nearby Abergorlech, where you can park and then walk or bike one of the many beautiful trails through the forestry (and another great pub and cafe 'The Black Lion' for refreshments afterwards!).
Out and about in Carmarthenshire
Within a short drive you can visit the National Botanic Gardens of Wales & British Bird of Prey Centre, National Trust Dinefwr Park, Paxton's Tower, and Dolaucothi Gold Mines, Dryslwyn Castle, The Gwili Railway, the market Towns of Carmarthen and Llandeilo, and Pembrey Country Park and Beach which is set inside 500 acres of woodland and alongside eight miles of its award-winning golden sandy Beach. It also has a dry ski slope, toboggan ride, crazy golf, pitch and putt, train rides, adventure play area, equestrian centre and a variety of nature trails.
Heading for the Beach?
Well - take your pick. Within an hour you can be on a beach in Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion or Carmarthenshire - and we truly have some of the best beaches in the world right here.
