Top Places to Stay Close to the Beach
***Any day arrival - Min 3-night stay / School holidays min 7-nights stay ***
Pip's Place has been a part of the artistic community at Sandy Lane since the 1960's, and is a sweet beach cabin sheltered from the winds at the top of Three Cliffs Bay. Pip has carefully decked out the cosy interior in bright hues and warm shades, which remind you of the sea and the surf just over the dunes. There is a roomy kitchen, lounge and dining space with a hefty log burner for chilly winter nights. The cabin is like a Tardis, with 3 spacious bedrooms leading off the hall space. The end bedroom opens right out onto the outdoor room, complete with chill zone and bar. Laze away a starlit evening in the hammock here, or gather around the up-cycled fire pit to swap tall stories deep into the night.
Pip's work as a potter, ceramicist and artist are sprinkled throughout. Her love of all things natural and simple is plain to see in this loved-up cabin. Perfect for couples, friends and families, too. Pip will lay on beach-combing and driftwood classes for you, so that you're able to take home a little bit of enchanting Gower life to remind you of those lazy, hazy beach-side days.

Stunning white sand walks over the enormous dunes and vast empty bays are waiting to be discovered just outside the gate. Walk to Southgate or Three Cliffs over the sandy cliff paths from the gateway in less than 15 minutes. Other artisans live close by in this fascinating place, first used as an escape to safety during the Second World War. Enchanted by the peace and clean air of Sandy Lane, some residents decided not to return to war-torn Swansea at the end of the war, but remained here, and a new community of gentle, peace-loving souls was created.
Just 400 metres from public transport links and with a shop and bar within a 15-minute walk, Pip's Place makes for an ideal base on the Gower. Britain's first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Gower is truly unspoilt by new development, its many beaches lay untouched by modern standards. That is not to say that the area is deserted: you will find many good pubs serving top quality Welsh locally sourced food. There are good farmers markets held in Mumbles and Uplands nearby. Walk the Gower Way to see the stunning beauty of this little-known area of Wales, a pathway that follows ancient byways right around the Gower Coast. Walk the "Worm", an iconic peninsula only accessible at low tide which juts out at the very tip of the Gower, sheltering Rhossili Bay, all 3 miles of it - voted amongst the top 5 beaches in the world - consistently. Take time out to visit Mumbles 7 miles away, home of the lifeboat, and get a taste of life on the edge of the sea. You will find a good range of bars, shops, and restaurants. Mumbles is the quintessential seaside village - it even has its own lighthouse and a pier.
