Nestled in the foothills of the world-famous Snowdonia National Park, this handcrafted cabin has been perfectly set-up for a tranquil countryside escape to North Wales. Cwt Celyn, meaning ‘Holly Hut"’ in Welsh, sits in its own private wildflower garden and enjoys stunning far-reaching views the dramatic Snowdonia mountain range and rolling landscape below. You'll certainly see the sun go down with some amazing sunsets from the comfort of the hot tub.

This beautifully appointed cabin for two is furnished with quirky animal-themed artworks, a small kitchen, super comfy king-sized bed and an en-suite bathroom. The large sparkling hot tub with coloured lights and jets perfectly soaks up the atmosphere and spectacular views no matter what the welsh weather is like. Sit out with a glass of wine or beer on the wooden decking with a table and chairs for al fresco dining and simply relax take time to absorb your rural setting.

A few miles down the road in Llangernyw village, the Old Stag Inn is a great local with a real log fire and delicious home cooked food. This popular inn does one of the best Sunday roasts around and also offers a takeaway option, including delicious homemade wood-fired pizzas. For a greater variety of eateries visit the beautiful village of Betws y Coed, which has numerous attractions and a distinctly Alpine feel, enhanced by the dense Gwydir Forest and mountain backdrop.

The site is well-positioned to visit a variety of amazing attractions around North Wales including the Forest Coaster and Zip World, Go Below Underground Adventures, Surf Snowdonia, and the fantastic Highland Railway. Walking and hiking in the Snowdonia National Park is a must with some of the most scenic routes in the whole of the UK. Also, within easy reach are the Carneddau Mountains, plus numerous mountain lakes, offering mountain biking, walking and fishing. Bike hire, fishing and a café are available at Llyn Brenig (which contains a 10-mile round walk) or for less strenuous, but equally impressive routes visit Llyn Crafnant and Llyn Geirionydd.

What's more, the North Wales Coast can easily be explored by car with the vast choice of beaches of Pen Llyn, (Llyn Peninsula) Ynys Môn(Anglesey) and Conwy which are all within an hour's drive. Despite the multitude of activities and attractions on offer you may simply want to relax and unwind in this chilled out hillside cabin.

On-site, enjoy miles of glorious countryside with plenty of walks straight from your door into the open hills; discover old drovers roads, sheep tracks, ruins and standing stones in these magical surroundings.

You'll find and an abundance of wildlife right here on your doorstep, from the birdsong in the woodlands to Red Kites and Buzzards calling and soaring overhead, and of course a charming collection of farm animals, which amble lazily around the fields right in front of you. This lovely secluded cabin is just right for a romantic break under the stars.

Cwt Celyn has a sumptuous king-size bed with bedding.

There is an en-suite shower room with hot shower, WC and hot running water and an electric heated towel rail. Towels and dressing gowns are provided.

There is a small kitchen with kettle, tea making facilities, a fridge and a  combination oven/microwave for cooking simple meals. Mugs, plates and crockery are provided.

Private terrace with electric hot tub, bistro table and chairs and a portable BBQ. There is an enclosed wildflower garden surrounding the cabin which comes alive with butterflies in the summer months.

A parking space is located on the edge of the garden only a few metres away from the property.

Villages, Towns and Food

  • Llangernyw (2.5 miles, away), has the traditional Old Stag Inn, which serves good home-cooked food and takeaway wood-fired pizza. 
  • The village has a great little convenience shop.
  • The next village along (towards Abergele) Llanfair Talhaiarn also has a pub, the Black Lion. Here, you'll also find a great cafe which serves breakfasts and snacks.

For more shopping and eating options visit the market town of Llanrwst. (5.5 miles).

Food places in Llanwrst:

  • Tir a Mor Llanrwst - new fish and chip restaurant including wood-fired pizzas (plus takeaway).
  • Ty Asia - Award-winning Indian restaurant and takeaway.
  • Jade 2 - Chinese Takeaway.

Betws y Coed is approx. 3 miles down the road from Llanrwst. Betws has lots of eateries and things to do.

Activities and Attractions

  • Go Below Underground Adventures at Pentrefoelas near Betws y Coed is a fantastic day out. Test your nerve by journeying through a mountain via a series of exciting adventurous challenges.
  • The Forest Coaster and Zip World Forest are also found at Betws y Coed, this is a short drive away from Cwt Celyn.
  • A little further at Blaenau Ffestiniog (35 minutes) and a lovely drive there is Zip World and the Caverns, plus the fantastic Highland Railway. Visit Zip World for the longest Zip Wire ride in Europe.
  • Surf Snowdonia (nearby at Dolgarog) is a state-of-the-art Water Park with a wave lagoon for learners, improvers and experienced surfers.


With Snowdonia and Snowdon on the doorstep, there are magical walks aplenty. Guests can also visit the Carneddau Mountains for yet more elevated walks.

For flatter walks nearby visit Llyn Alwen and Llyn Brenig on the Denbigh moors.

Lake walks around Llyn Brenig, Llyn Geirionydd and Llyn Crafnant above Trefriw also makes a lovely day out. Bike hire, café and fishing are all available at Llyn Brenig.

The increasingly popular Pilgrims Trail which also runs right next to the farm on site.


You're not far from the coast and a short drive will get you to Conwy, the victorian town of Llandudno or Abergele.

To the North East the nearest beaches are Penmaenmawr Beach - a long sandy beach with Blue Flag status - and Llanfairfechan - a modest resort popular for its beach and its walks.

To the East, a scenic drive through the Snowdonia National Park will take you to a variety of beaches near Porthmadog, Criccieth and Harlech (around an hours' drive).
