Pen y Bryn

Pen y Bryn is one of six treehouses available to our guests on this site.  Please be aware that pressing "Book" reserves one of these six properties, and means that you will be allocated one of these equally beautiful treehouses based on availability and suitability.  This is so that we can make sure that your family has a stay that's out of this world!

Set in an oak-filled valley on the outskirts of the ancient town of Machynlleth, this spectacular rustic-chic treehouse sleeps a couple, or a family of two adults and up to three children.  The idyllic woodland setting shelters Pen y Bryn from the bustle of everyday life - the only noise you'll hear here is the stream running down from the mountains and the tawny owls calling each other from across the valley.  Cader Idris, one of the most popular hiking peaks in Wales, sits majestically to the north of this scenic spot, while the market town of Dolgellau lies beyond.  Take a trip to King Arthur's Labyrinth in Corris, an underground child friendly attraction set in an old slate mine.  Or why not visit the museum of moving models, Machinations, only a few miles from the treehouse?

You won't need to leave the site to experience the joys of the natural world.  Pen y Bryn offers spectacular views across treetops, with large windows allowing for birdwatching and star gazing through the branches.  Watch striking sunsets from the balcony, and sip your hot chocolate as moonlight slivers seep through the forest roof.  This treehouse is the stuff of childhood dreams, high above the forest floor, a woodland sanctuary in which to unwind, unplug and immerse yourself in quality time with those you love.

Interior & Facilities

Each one of these chic tree shelters sleep four - two adults on a hand built wooden double bed, and two children in built in bunk beds.  There is an optional day bed for a third child available.  All beds have views over the woodland from large windows, allowing for star gazing and bird spotting well into the night.  The living space is big enough for a family stay, and cosy enough for a couple, with cooking and washing up facilities, comfortable seating and dining areas, and a central wood-burning stove providing a sepia glow over this simple existence.  The shower can be found under the structure, and the compost toilet is on its own platform nearby.  Rope bridges, spiral staircases, tree hammocks and streams also add to the experience, allowing the kids and the big kids an amazing, serene experience between the branches.
