Haverfordwest itself has many supermarkets, chain stores, boutique shops, and cafes, restaurants, and takeaways in abundance. There are plenty of activities based around Haverfordwest including The Palace Cinema and Hanger 5, a large aeroplane hanger beside the runway at Haverfordwest airport full of trampolines!

You're only a few miles from the coast at Little Slade Farm - beautiful blue-flag awarded Broad Haven beach is your closest sandy stretch, with the gorgeous cove at Little Haven only a mile away. Here, you can access the 186 miles of coastal path that runs along the cliffs and beaches of Pembrokeshire - it's the only Coastal National Park in the UK!

Just over half an hour to the northwest of Haverfordwest is St Davids, well known for the cathedral that makes this ancient hamlet Britain's smallest city! It's also known for artisan shops full of unique local produce, and gorgeous cafes such as The Mill, known far and wide for its delicious cooked breakfasts, and Grain, a new outdoor pizza restaurant. Stop at ancient inns such as The Bishops for a local pint after a walk over to the chapel of St Non, dedicated to the mother of Wales' patron saint perched on the clifftops.

From here, visit some of Pembrokeshire's most famous beaches; Whitesands is a long, sweeping stretch of sand a mile from St Davids, and is one of the most accessible and most beautiful beaches in Pembrokeshire. With a car park, cafe, toilets, lifeguards, and ice cream stall on site, you've got everything you need for a day relaxing on the sand.

Alternatively, the pebble dunes of Newgale are the place to be if you're a fan of watersports - Newsurf's surfing shop is the place to visit to hire or buy wetsuits and boards, and you can even book lessons here, too. Become an expert at kite surfing, paddleboarding, or just enjoy this enormous beach overlooking St Bride's Bay.

To the south of the county, the town of Pembroke has a range of amenities including, a bank, post office, supermarket, delicatessen, filling station, chemist, doctor, vets, and more. It has interesting independent shops and a farmer's market held in the town hall fortnightly on Saturdays. Pembroke's most intriguing feature, though, is its fantastic ruined castle, watching over this ancient market town and its millpond moat. Birthplace of Henry VII, this remarkable building is now home to exhibitions, reenactments, and music gigs throughout the summer months.
