Whether you're a tree hugger, bird spotter, hardcore glamper or
you just want to experience a little more of the British
countryside, Redwood Safari welcomes your party of up to six
people. This beautiful canvas chalet is the perfect rural
retreat for your family. Perched on a hillside that rolls
into an ancient and thriving red wood valley, this calming,
spacious abode allows you to switch off - quite literally - as it's
one of our sought-after off grid retreats, allowing you to detox
from the digital world and recharge your relationship with
relatives as well as with Mother Nature.
Cosy up around a campfire and close your eyes under canvas, knowing that a day of adventure in wildlife awaits you the next day. Feed the lambs, chase the chickens, pet the horses and trek amongst the trees, keeping an eye out for the area's well-established buzzard population. Redwood Safari even offers a comfortable stay for your horse in its livery, and well-behaved dogs are welcome to share the holiday. Redwood Safari offers a little woodland magic for everyone.
Interior & Facilities
This generous-sized glamping structure has one double bedroom as
well as a twin bedroom, and houses a double sofa bed in its
communal area, sleeping up to 6 guests comfortably. The
lounge area leads to a well-equipped kitchenette, and out on the
deck is a dining area with a view of the valley. After an
evening of sharing stories, songs and a glass of something
sparkling around the camp fire outside, then slip into your jammies
and converge around the wood-burning stove before bed.
We guarantee that you won't have seen a bathroom like this before - your morning shower will take place in a horse box. Yes, that's right - this cleverly converted box houses a gas-heated shower and compost toilet, and is only a few metres from the yurt.
Despite its rural location, Redwood Safari is far from lifeless
- from the domestic animals to the wild ones, from the bluebell
woods to the forageable gardens planted by Rachel, this active farm
site is bursting with energy. Paths lead off from this site
to 18th century mansions, ancient woodlands and hidden
waterfalls. It's a ten-minute walk to the local pub, but it's
worth it for the locally brewed ale and home cooked meals.
This is an off-grid structure in many senses - by the time you've travelled between the flowering hedgerows towards Redwood Safari, you'll be ready to embrace the digital detox this Wi-Fi-free spot offers.
Redwood Safari's valley location is a stark contrast to the nearby infamous Preseli Hills range, demonstrating the diversity of West Wales. Nearby Boncath is named after its established buzzard population. A twenty-minute drive through the lush Pembrokeshire countryside gets you to the start of the county's coastal National Park, which stretches south for a staggering 186 miles.
Things to do
Amongst the many things to see and do on-site, owner Phil is the man to see about activities - he's a bit of a thrill-seeker, and can offer fun days out, from bushcraft to white water canoeing.
