As for eating and drinking out, from the local chip shop and Chinese takeaway, Thai, Moroccan and great pub grub, to more gourmet fair, we have something for every taste. The Woodland Kitchen
Includes two fridges, gas hobs, microwave, toaster, kettle, pots, pans, kitchen implements, cutlery and crockery.
There are separate bins for recycling, compost and landfill.
Guests are invited to help themselves to the complimentary tea, coffee, sugar, cooking oil, condiments, and herbs and spices.
There is a long trestle table on which to eat, play the board games provided or read the selection of books on the local area, and plant and wildlife identification.
The Shower and Composting Loos
Next to the kitchen is a gas-heated shower with a constant supply of hot water. The shower has a spacious changing area and complimentary shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. The grey water from the shower and kitchen is managed through an underground soak-away system. For this reason, we kindly ask you to use the biodegradable toiletries provided as these will not harm the local ecosystem.
All water for the kitchen and shower comes from the sites very own fresh-water spring and is UV-treated to ensure that it is safe for drinking. The delicious spring water is on tap, so bring a bottle and take some home!
Green woodworking courses run throughout the season according to demand. You can find out more about the green woodworking teacher, Ben Willis, and his work on his website.
These courses run over two days and include two guided bird walks. By the end of the stay, you should be able to identify a range of woodland and garden birds and may have spotted some of the rarer visitors to the site such as pied and spotted flycatchers, redstarts, dippers and long-eared owls.

Work together to design unique silver or gold rings which you will make over a two-day period in the beautiful woodland workshop. Private courses by appointment.
Welsh Stick Chair Making - 6-day course
Try something more challenging with a Welsh stick chair, a simple but striking form of Windsor chair. You'll learn how to bend an arm bow from a single piece of steamed ash and how to fashion a comfortable seat from a plank of elm or beech using an adze and travisher. After five days you'll come away with a beautiful piece that will last for generations.
