This fascinating construction set blissfully amongst the trees and glorious Brecon Beacons sky is a truly unique and intriguing space, which offers a tranquil setting to relax and unwind. Stargazers Hideaway is delightfully concealed beneath a draping oak and with its bed raised on stilts sitting right in the glass roof, it allows you to fully indulge in the fabulous panoramic views of the surrounding hills. With a variety of country walks around, there's so much beauty to explore, and plenty more on site to revitalize.
Stargazers Hideaway is a cosy neat little building at 4m diameter and was designed by your hosts and built over a year using stone from their house renovations and Ty Mawr lime. Built to be 'off grid' but with enough creature comforts to keep you going, the house is fully bespoke with each of the 55kg glass roof sections lifted in by hand. It sits in near complete seclusion which makes a lovely spot for children or dogs to run around.
Despite the selection of modern conveniences from the warming woodburning stove, hot gas-powered shower and functional outdoor kitchen don't be deceived, this is a simple, rustic building, where the boundaries between wildlife and home converge. Small mammals and birds come and go as they please, so don't be put off by occasional rustling in and around the property. Expect to see a whole host of beautiful beasts from nimble-witted Weasels to illustrious Red Kites, while the air is interspersed with the patter of tapping woodpeckers and the occasional hooting owl. This secluded retreat offers everything you need for a serene glamping getaway, a million miles from the hustle and bustle of 21st century living.
